Cookbook Update: Carol was going to be at the West Seattle Farmers Market on Sunday, August 10th from 10:30-1. Unfortunately, she has to postpone a week. She’ll now be there Sunday, August 17th (near the front entrance to the market on Alaska Street) from around 10:30-1. Come say hello!
This week, we found a great new friend on twitter! It’s the organization Food Donation Connection, and their mission is to “expand our global network linking available sources of surplus food to those in need through existing charitable organizations.” With food waste being such a big issue right now, and an extremely important one at that, they focus on restaurants and getting the large amount of extra food from there to agencies in need. This is such a great organization and we are happy to have found them and to work together to on bringing awareness and solutions to the problem of food waste.
Their vision (from the website): When they had all had enough to eat, Jesus said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” John 6:12
